Guest comments are collected from the written guestbook in the house; and from TripAdvisor and AirBnB. The comments on this site typically lag behind a bit as I update them whenever I get down to Cornwall from the book. More up to the minute reviews can be seen on airbnb and TripAdvisor. Best prices on this site though.
Perfect place in a stunning location. 1 minute walk from Crackington Haven beach with easy access to the costal paths. House beautifully presented with gorgeous art work and super comfortable beds. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chough Cottage. While the pictures depict the property and rooms well, we were pleasantly surprised at the openness and flow of the reception rooms. Every room was bright and airy. Thank you Tim and family for a well-thought-through property, we’d definitely visit again and would recommend your properly to our friends and family.

We are a family of five with a young Labrador and had a fantastic stay at Tim's beautiful beachside house. It had plenty of room to relax, great facilities and was a stone's throw from the wonderful beach at Crackington Haven. It's also right on the South West Coast path and so we enjoyed bring walks each day as well. We would return in a heartbeat and would highly recommend it to others.

We wanted somewhere peaceful and relaxing to unwind after our Wedding at St Nectans Glen, Tim's place was the perfect place to do this. The house itself is fabulous, really well presented, light and airy, actually the photos on the listing don't do it justice! House is very well equipped too, plus stunning views of the coast. We just returned from a week at Tim's place in Crackington Haven. To describe the house and locaction....Wow! Beautiful house, far exceeded our expecation, and as for the location...simply beautiful. The views from the house were incredible. We were 5 adults, 2 three year olds and our dog. Safe to say, we all had a lovely time. Thank you Tim. Hopefully we will make it back there in the future.

Stunning house! Stunning location! Stunning sun sets! We did not want to leave. The house has everything you need for a perfect holiday. My kids loved the ping pong table and the short walk to reach the beach for their paddle boarding. The gardens are stunning and have beautiful view points of the beach and ocean. Chough Cottage was in a fantastic location , to have woodlands for walks and just 400 metres from the sea and cafes it was perfect. we were also lucky to have 7 days of clear blues skies which made us just want to stay at the cottage and enjoy all that was around us , just a great location and the property was so roomy . We loved our stay at Chough Cottage. It's a beautiful house in a wonderful location. Just a very short walk to the beach with a great pub and cafe and access to wonderful coastal walks. The beds were super comfortable, the showers were amazing and the kitchen brilliantly equiped. We loved the table tennis and chilling in the the lounge area with wonderful views. We'd love to return, hopefully with some better weather next time so we can enjoy the wonderful first floor terrace and sea view!

We had a fantastic stay at Tim’s beautiful house. The house is in a fantastic location and is well equipped with everything you might need for your stay - including a table tennis table! The views from every window are amazing, especially from the bedroom with the balcony. The friendly, local pub in Crackington Haven is a short walk from the house. The garden is lovely, with plenty of space for children and dogs to run around. There are also walks from the doorstep.

It was a week of 2 halves - glorious Spring sunshine, followed by dramatic low level cloud and drizzle.
We've loved it all! The breathtaking views, which disappeared, the exhilarating wind, the beautiful beach, and not least this wonderful cottage. The boys are insisting we return!

The cottage was absolutely perfect. The location is ideal, with the beach barely 2 mins walk away. The Cabin Cafe is excellent and the Coombe Barton Inn which is also only 2 mins away is also great. I recomend a trip to Trebarwith Strand if you want to see an amazing beach and many of the other tourist locations about are lovely. Fantastic place for a break away!

The location and setting for the house met all our requirements and could not ask for anything else. It met all our needs and more and would definitely recommend to anyone else. It's exactly as stated and Tim was responsive when communicating. For a family group then this place is ideal. I would definitely like to return one day as we had such a great time.

We've stayed here many a summer now and we love it. The recent extension has opened up what was an already lovely house and makes much better use of the beautiful views of the surrounding area. Admiring the sea views from the balcony with a morning coffee or evening tipple warms the soul. Body boarding, surfing or simply playing in the sea, knowing that a warm shower is just a 5-10 minute walk back to the house makes a beach holiday here so easy, so special. And wandering down to celebrate the sunset with the locals and a bottle of wine will leave you with fond memories.

A very well equipped comfortable house. If you like walking there are lots of options going right past the door. The house is well furnished with a great open plan kitchen. The lounge is large and comfortable. There are some great extras like Amazon Prime, Netflix and a SMART speaker. Highly recommend it.

We have just returned from a wonderfully relaxing stay in Crackington Haven. This is a beautiful property - clean, cosy, well-equipped and with lots of lovely artwork and beach inspired furnishings. Super comfy beds and a nice powerful shower always get my holiday vote! The house is a stone’s throw from the beach (a quiet cove away from some of the busier locations) and surrounded by lovely relaxing views. So many coastal and woodland walks nearby and a nice garden to chill out in when you get back and take your boots off. We had some fabulous sunset dips in the sea, strolling back in our towels to make dinner in the great kitchen facilities. The property is within easy reach of the main coast road if you want to explore. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thanks for a great stay!

We had the most lovely stay in this cottage. The location and proximity to the beach, pub and cafe were huge benefits and allowed us to walk to them straight from the house (that even one of our party who was recovering from knee replacement surgery could manage the walk!). The area is beautiful with easy access to the south west coastal path and other delights such as the crackington haven cider brewery! The house itself is exceedingly comfortable, gardens and the outlook beautiful so that we were able to make the most of the rainy days snuggled up with the wood burner roaring or sat outside on the wooden seats enjoying the sunshine. Would LOVE to come again!!

I spent two weeks at Chough Cottage with my daughters. We really enjoyed the location - beautiful views and costal trails. The cottage was clean and I liked the spacious master bedroom. Perfect location and facilities. Everything you need in the kitchen and lovely cosy sitting room with wood burner. Countless amazing walks straight from the front door, plus easy reach to Tintagel, Boscastle and Port Issac etc. Great communication with Tim too, with very quick responses and helpful advice. Tim’s house is in a fantastic location, so close to the beach and cliff walks. Village has two lovely cafes and a pub. The house is very comfortable and has everything you need, we loved the nespresso machine. Shower was excellent and beds comfortable. WiFi also very good. We have booked for next summer and look forward to visiting in warmer weather.

Four of us stayed over at Tim’s place for four nights in February. The place was cosy and warm, and we loved the coffee machine, the well-equipped kitchen, the cosy living room, and the brilliant shower! It felt like a home away from home! The local beach (a few minutes walk away) is quiet and nice, and there are plenty of other lovely beaches nearby like Bude, Widemouth, and Sandymouth (particularly beautiful). On top of that, the coastal path passes nearby and there are some beautiful walks. Tim provided plenty of tips on places to eat, drink, and visit. There’s a pub and a couple of cafes a few minutes walk away. We had two little dogs with us, and they loved it too. Check-in and check-out was relaxed. Would recommend for a relaxing family getaway!

The house was excellent and Tim a great host. The information prior was helpful and very timely. Tim also provided very quick responses on a couple of queries once arrived. The location is gorgeous with the beach, cliff and walks in the woods, cafe (cabin cafe excellent!), and pub all within about 2 mins walk. This was also perfect for our small dog who loved it! The house is very cosy and the log burner great. We have stayed in many air b and b’s across Europe and the amenities were perfect for a family, nothing missing and more then we expected! We spent time at Tintagel castle, surfing at watergate bay, lunch at Mariners in Rock, Lifes a Beach in Bude and did cliff walks and storm watched! Would love to return again, thank you Tim!

Tim’s house in Crackington Haven is fabulous. The home is great. A large house which fitted our family of 6 comfortably. Touches like the fibre broadband, excellent kitchen facilities and the games equipment in the garage were great. We were made to feel at home. Location wise the home is superb. A gentle stroll to the beach of a minute or two was great. The beach is lovely and the kids loved the rock pools. Alternatively head the other way from the front door and in a couple of minutes you are in East Wood which is beautifully different. The stream and trees make for a wonderful woodland walk. We couldn’t have asked for more!

This was our first time of using Airbnb and we really struck lucky with a fantastic house in a fabulous location with a great host, Tim. The outside is perfect for outdoor living when the weather is good with so sunshine all day long and comfy seating (loved the seat on the cliff). Inside is equally as welcoming and comfortable and the shower is to die for! We can’t wait to be back.

Staying at Tims home in Crackington Haven was really delightful! Everything was as described on the website, very well thought out and extremely comfortable. Chough Cottage is a simply idyllic getaway with gorgeous views...Crackington Haven is a secluded hamlet (with an amazing surf beach) but not too far away to explore other towns and villages that dot this beautiful part of the Cornish coastline. A very welcoming and warm home with EVERYTHING we needed, including some top tips on local eateries.

Lovely well equipped house with everything you need for a great family holiday. The house is in easy walking distance of a good beach and pub that serves great food. Brilliant coastal walks on your doorstep. There's a really good cafe just a couple of mins walk away. Brilliant communication and response from both the host and the management company. Everything was exactly as expected. The kitchen was far beyond the best supplied from other previous rentals we visited elsewhere. The little town where the house was, was very quaint and perfect and off the beaten track. Amazing views and perfect spot for morning walks. You are fairly forced to relax which was what we wanted. We're looking forward to visit again during warmer weather.

Fantastic location. Secluded home but with a bus stop, 2 cafes and a pub serving lovely food at the end of the road. Coast path in each direction is perfect for walking. Quick responses from the host and photos are just like the real thing. Thanks Tim!

The kids were amazed at the speakers and apple TV - not that we had any time to use them! Loved our week’s stay in your charming home. Something for everyone. Loved the surfing on long boards, body boards and just watching the experts. Walks to the top of the mountain with the collies, visits to other local beaches, cream scones, gorgeous sunsets. We loved every moment – all 3 generations and the dogs.

We stayed at chough cottage for a four day break and we absolutely loved our time at this beautiful home. We found it to be very cosy with everything we needed for a lovely restful break.
The house is situated in a small private lane with lovely walks into the woods or just a short stroll to a beach, we also took the coastal path (from the beach) and saw some amazing scenery on our walk (some very good walks for the area can be found on I walk Cornwall)
We had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to return in the future.
there is also a local pub and small friendly cafe close to the beach.

It has been a truly amazing week for our family made possible by this gorgeous and homey cottage.

We did near and far in Cornwall and some of our favourite parts of the vacation we had right here in the front yard.

We are just about to leave after four very very enjoyable days here at Chough Cottage. The house is lovely - extremely comfortable and spacious, yet cosy. We enjoyed eating, sleeping and lounging around here. And we made the most of our surroundings too with visits to the Eden Project, a lovely day on the beach at Bude, and a visit to Bodmin Railway and Tintagel. We're sorry to be leaving after just four days, and can see ourselves returning regularly as our family grows up. And a final thank you for allowing us to stay that extra night - it made all the difference. Best wishes.

The proximity to local beaches (Crackington, Widemouth) is a real bonus, in addition to other local beauty spots such as Port Isaac, Bude, Padstow and Polzeath.
We found our house bedroom very spacious, more than enough for both of us and our 2 year old and really enjoyed playing in the garden, watching the sunsets, climbing the grass to the benches and chilling-out with Ping-Pong. We hope to return soon - highly recommended.

Thank you once again for a wonderful stay in Chough Cottage. The house was beautifully presented on arrival, and there is so much to keep us occupied. We played lots of table tennis, had 2 BBQs ad enjoyed lounging in the garden in the sun. The sunsets are a bit special too.
We've been to Crackington beach and cafes most days, and also to Boscastle, Widemouth Bay (great surf), Port Isaac (great rockpooling), Polzeath (great sand), Bude, Padstow (great atmosphere and playground!) and we did a long walk to High Cliff, made even longer with a 3 and 1 year old on a hot day!

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Chough Cottage. Tim was extremely helpful throughout the booking process and was always very quick in answering any questions we had.
Highlights for us include; Dinner in the sunshine on the lovely patio, warming up in front of the fire after long walks on the fabulously accessible coastal paths and of course watching the sun set over the sea both from the cottage and from the lovely garden.
The location is excellent and it was great bonus to be able to stroll down to the sea for an ice cream!
The cottage is beautifully decorated and very well appointed - we had everything we could have needed. It is homely, cosy and above all contributed hugely to making our holiday such an amazing and memorable one. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely holiday home - we're already planning our next trip!

I have no words to describe the beauty of the location where the cottage is situated. It is perched between a valley and the sea ! The cottage itself is quite a big one than what the photos actually depict. I must mention the owners' hard work to make the cottage decor to resemble a ship and every room showcases sea and the beauty of the ocean. All the amenities are near by and absolutely nothing to think of to spend a holiday here. Great place - had a great time - Thanks Chough !

We LOVED staying at Chough Cottage. We went with our two small boys and our friends who have a little girl. It is so peaceful, yet is only literally a 2 minute walk down to the beach, which is stony at the back and beautifully sandy when the tide is out. The surf was great, lifeguarded too, and we borrowed the body boards from the cottage - it was so much fun! There are two lovely little cafes right by the beach (the cream teas and ice-creams are just fabulous) and a friendly pub, where you can also get takeaway food. The house itself is really nice, plenty of space for the kids to race around, comfy sofas and comfy beds. We played table tennis and sat and had a BBQ in the garden as the sun set in front of us. Cannot think of anything we didn't like, we would certainly recommend highly to friends and family. Many thanks - will definitely be going again! more
